The ‘Inter-University Games 2024 – Wrestling Championship’ was held on the 16^th and 17^th of September 2024, at the University of Colombo, with teams from all state universities participating.

In this competition, the University of Kelaniya achieved the overall 2^nd runners-up position in the Men's category, earning an impressive three silver medals and four bronze medals. In this category, the University of Colombo claimed the overall championship, followed by the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka as the overall 1^st runners-up and the University of Peradeniya as the overall 3^rd runners-up.

Accordingly, A. M. R. N. Perera, C. Munasinghe, and B. A. N. K. Thisera of the University of Kelaniya won second place in the categories, Men’s 86kg, Men’s 92kg, and Men’s 74kg, respectively, while R. M. R. S. Ranasinghe, L. N. S. Perera, P. C. P. H. Perera, and  M. A. C. I. Jayasumana of the University of Kelaniya won the third place in the categories, Men’s 125kg, Men’s 97kg, Men’s 61kg , and Men’s 79kg, respectively.
