The ‘Inter-University Taekwondo Championship 2024’ was held from 11^th to 13^th of October 2024 at the University of Moratuwa. Teams from both men and women categories, representing all state universities, participated in this competition.

In this competition, the Women's team from the University of Kelaniya achieved an impressive feat, securing the joint championship, winning 03 Gold Medals, 03 Silver Medals, and 01 Bronze Medal. Meanwhile, the Men's team claimed the 3rd runners-up position, earning 01 Gold Medal and 05 Bronze Medals.

In the women’s category, H. H. Welikala won the Gold Medal in all, the Feather (-57kg) weight category, Individual Senior Poomsae, and Women Team Poomsae. Both L. L. Imalsha and P. G. D. K. Madhuwanthi also secured the Gold Medals in Senior Poomsae Team. Further, S. M. M. S. S. Suraweera, K. B. Janani Kaushika, and W. W. M. Chamudi Wijethunga claimed Silver Medals in the Middle (-73kg), Heavy (+73kg), and Light (-62kg) weight categories respectively. Also, D. M. S. S. Dasanayake won the Bronze Medal in the Welter (-67kg) weight category.

In the men’s category, R. K. K. K. N. Ravihara won the Glod Medal in the Fly (-58kg) weight category, while H. A. C. C. Perera, Yasinda Senanayaka, Yasith Mayura, P. H. Madushan, and Danuka Chathuranga secured the Bronze Medals in the Feather (-68kg) weight category, Individual Poomsae Men (Senior category), Light (-74kg) weight category, Welter (-80kg) weight category, and Heavy (+88kg) weight category, respectively.

The University of Jayewardenepura shared the Women's joint championship title, with Sabaragamuwa University taking the 2nd runners-up position. The University of Moratuwa won the Men’s championship, followed by the University of Colombo and the University of Ruhuna as 1^st and 2^nd runners-up, respectively.
