Ms. Savindi de Silva, a first-year undergraduate from the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya, following a BSc Honours in Applied Chemistry, secured the 2nd Runner-up position in the Women’s Singles event and 4th place in the Mixed Double event, at the 55th National Carrom Championship 2025, organized by the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka. The event was held on the 1st of March 2025, at the SL Carrom Federation Headquarters. Her double partner was Mr. Gihan Chamara Dissanayaka, Carrom Coach of the University of Kelaniya.

Ms. de Silva also achieved the 6th rank in the National Women's Single Carrom Ranking and 4th in Mixed Double National ranking. Her outstanding performance has brought immense honor to the University of Kelaniya, as well as to the Department of Physical Education and the University’s Carrom Team.

Her victory is a testament to her skill, hard work, and the invaluable guidance and coaching given by Mr. D. M. Gihan Chamara Dissanayaka, Carrom Coach, University of Kelaniya as well as the support given by the members of carrom men & women teams.
