118th General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya

In accordance with the safety guidelines, precautions, and protocols 118th General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was festively held on the 20th of December 2021 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.

This convocation consisted of 03 sessions. During the 01st session, 400 graduands of Doctor of Philosophy Degree, Doctor of Business Administration Degree, Master of Philosophy Degree, Master of Science Degree, Master of Commerce Degree, Master of Business Administration Degree, Master of Social Sciences Degree, Master of Accounting Degree, Master of Human Resource Management Degree, Master of Business Management in Marketing Degree, and Master of Arts (two-year) Degree were conferred.

During the 02nd session, 400 graduands of the Master of Arts (two-year), Master of Science in Industrial and Environmental Chemistry (one-year), Master of Science in Food and Nutrition (one-year), Master of Science in Applied Microbiology (one-year), Master of Science in Crop Protection and Plant Biotechnology (one-year), Master of Business in Accounting, Master of Business in Finance, and Master of Arts degrees were conferred. 

During the 03rd session, 390 graduands and postgraduate diploma holders were conferred the degrees offered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.   

Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Aggamahapandit Most Ven. Prof. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkitha Maha Thera, Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Kithsiri Mewan Vihara,  Former Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Deans, Directors of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Directors and Chairpersons of the Units and Centres, Heads of Departments, academic staff members, Librarian, Registrar, non-academic staff members, and parents were among the participants of this special ceremony.
