The 123^rd General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was held on 08^th of April 2022 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall adhering to the health safety measures.

The convocation consisted of 03 sessions. 15 graduands of Doctor of Philosophy Degree, 05 graduands of Master of Philosophy, 216 graduands of Master of Arts Degree, 28 graduands of Postgraduate Diploma of Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies were conferred during the first session. Moreover, Prof. Kapila Abayawansa was awarded an Honorary Degree, Doctor of Literature at the convocation.

331 graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree (external) of Faculty of Social Sciences, 69 graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree of Faculty of Humanities were conferred during the second session.

2 graduands of Doctor of Philosophy Degree, 3 graduands of Master of Philosophy Degree, 24 graduands of Master of Science Degree, 15 graduands of Master of Arts Degree, 27 graduands of Postgraduate Diploma of Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology, 12 graduands of Master of Science in Management & Administration of Ayurveda Institutions, 06 graduands of Master of Science in Kayacikitsa, 07 graduands of Master of Science in Pancakarma, 08 graduands of Postgraduate Diploma in Kayacikitsa, 25 graduands of Postgraduate Diploma in Pancakarma, 14 graduands of Postgraduate Diploma in Shalyatantra of Faculty of Graduate Studies, Gampaha Wickkramarachchi Ayurveda Institute, 64 graduands of Bachleor of Ayurveda Medicine & Surgery Degree of Gampaha Wickkramarachchi Ayurveda Institute were conferred at the third session.

Prof. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkitha Maha Thera, Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Kithsiri Mewan Vihara, Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Deans, Directors and Chairpersons of the Units and Centres, Heads of Departments, academic staff members, Librarian, Registrar, non-academic staff members, and parents were among the participants of this special ceremony.
