Prof. Janitha Liyanage, Sri Lankan ambassador in Russia was awarded the title of Honorary Academician of the International Humanitarian Academy “Europe–Asia” as well as the Diploma, Ribbon and Rose of Peace Gold Medal.

It was presented at a moment where Russia and Sri Lanka recently celebrated the 65 years of diplomatic ties. Prof. Janitha Liyanage was admired for her prodigious contribution as a diplomat, scientist and a citizen by the Rector of the Institute for a Culture of Peace (UNESCO), President of the International Humanitarian Academy “Europe–Asia” and member of the Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan for UNESCO, E.R. Tagirov. He further explained the significance of her contribution for the successful development of the multifaceted relations.

At the end he congratulated her for having won the Honorary Academician of the International Humanitarian Academy “Europe-Asia” as well as the Diploma, Ribbon and Gold Medal Peace Rose in the category “Peacemaker of the Planet.”
