The 127^th General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was held ceremoniously on the 20^th of September 2022 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.

At this convocation, Dr. W. A. Abeysinghe was awarded an Honorary Degree Doctor of Literature - “Sahithya Chakrawarthi” for his outstanding contribution to the field of Literature.

The convocation ceremony consisted of 03 sessions. During the 01^st session, 419 graduands of Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree, 1 graduand of Bachelor of Arts (Special) Degree, and 128 graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree were conferred.

Furthermore, 500 graduands of the Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree were conferred in the 02^nd session, while 280 graduands of the Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree, 2 graduands of Bachelor of Arts (Special) Degree, 1 graduand of Bachelor of Arts (General) Degree and 112 graduands Bachelor of Arts Degree were conferred during the 3^rd session.

Prof. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkitha Maha Thera, Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Kithsiri Mewan Vihara,  Former Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Registrar, Deans, Directors and Chairpersons of the Units and Centres, Heads of Departments, academic and non-academic staff members, Librarian and parents of the graduates were among the participants of this special ceremony.
