In accordance with the safety guidelines, precautions, and protocols 126^th General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was festively held on the 26^th of August 2022 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.

It is also noteworthy that, the first batch of the Faculty of Computing and Technology was conferred degrees at the 126^th General Convocation.

This convocation consisted of 03 sessions. During the 01^st session, 109 graduands in Bachelor of Science Honors Degree, 23 graduands in Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Management and Information Technology, 08 graduands in Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Environmental Conservation and Management, 47 graduands in Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Software Engineering and 312 graduands in Bachelor of Science Degree were conferred.

During the 02^nd session, 25 graduands in Bachelor of Science Degree in Management and Information Technology, 37 graduands in Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Conservation and Management, 38 graduands in Bachelor of Science in Physics and Electronics, 05 graduands in Bachelor of Science Degree, 49 graduands in Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology (BICT) Honours Degree, 63 graduands in Bachelor of Engineering Technology, 117 graduands in Bachelor of Business Management (special) Degree in Accountancy and 118 graduands in Bachelor of Commerce (special) Degree were conferred.

71 graduands in Bachelor of Business Management (special) Degree in Human Resource, 85 graduands in Bachelor of Business Management (special) in Marketing, 38 graduands in Bachelor of Commerce (special) Degree in Financial Management, 69 graduands in Bachelor of Bachelor of Commerce (special) Degree in Finance, 14 graduands in Bachelor of Commerce (special) Degree in Entrepreneurship, 28 graduands in Bachelor of Commerce (special) Degree in Business Technology, 27 graduands in Bachelor of Business Management Honors Degree in Insurance and 30 graduands in Bachelor of Business Management Honors Degree in Banking were conferred in the 3^rd session

Prof. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkitha Maha Thera, Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Kithsiri Mewan Vihara,  Former Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Deans, Directors and Chairpersons of the Units and Centres, Heads of Departments, academic staff members, Librarian, Registrar, non-academic staff members, and parents were among the participants of this special ceremony.
