In accordance with the safety guidelines, precautions, and protocols the 128^th General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was held festively on the 03^rd of October 2022 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.

The convocation ceremony consisted of 03 sessions. During the 01^st session, 11 graduands of Doctor of Philosophy Degree, 365 graduands of Master of Arts Degree, and 62 graduands of Postgraduate Diploma were conferred.

Furthermore, 121 graduands of the Master of Arts (Two Year) Degree, 268 graduands of Master of Arts Degree, and 64 graduands of Master of Business Studies Degree were conferred in the 02^nd session, while 499 graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree, who were external candidates were conferred during the 3^rd session.   

Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Aggamahapandit Most Ven. Prof. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkitha Maha Thera, Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Kithsiri Mewan Vihara,  Former Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Registrar, Deans, Directors and Chairpersons of the Units and Centres, Heads of Departments, academic and non-academic staff members, Librarian and parents of the graduates were among the participants of this special ceremony.
