The 142^nd General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was held ceremoniously on the 27^th of March 2024 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.

The convocation ceremony consisted of 02 sessions. During the 1^st session, 162 graduands of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Degree, 31 graduands of  Bachelor of Science Honors Degree (Speech and Language Therapy), 8 graduands of Bachelor of Science Honors Degree (Audiology)  and 1 graduand of Bachelor of Health Sciences Degree offered by the Faculty of Medicine and 54 graduands and 1 graduand In Absentia of Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Management and Information Technology, 14 graduands of Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Environmental Conservation and Management, 43 graduands of Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Software Engineering, 24 graduands of Bachelor of Science Degree in Management and Information Technology, 30 graduands of Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Conservation and Management and 25 graduands of Bachelor of Science Physics and Electronics Degree offered by the Faculty of Science were conferred.

During the 2^nd session, 124 graduands of Bachelor of Science Honours Degree and 264 graduands of Bachelor of Science Degree offered by the Faculty of Science were conferred.

Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Kithsiri Mewan Vihara, Former Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Aggamahapandit, Most Ven. Prof. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkitha Maha Thera, Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Registrar, Librarian, Deans, Directors, and Chairpersons of the Units and Centers, Heads of the Departments, academic, and non-academic staff members and parents of the graduates were among the participants of this special ceremony.
