Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 28^th of March 2024 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the Deans of the Faculties, Heads of the Departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Professor W. M. C. B. Wanninayake of the Department of Marketing Management was the awardee from the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.       

Dr. M. P. L. R. Marasinghe was the awardee from the Library of the University of Kelaniya.

Prof. R. M. C. S. Ratnayake and Mr. S. G. M. S. D. Senanayaka of the Department of Plant and Molecular Biology, Dr. B. G. N. Sewwandi, Dr. H. M. T. R. Samarakoon, and Prof. U. P. K. Epa of the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, and Dr. Isuru Udayangani Hewapathirana of the Department of Software Engineering Teaching Unit were the awardees from the Faculty of Science.
