Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 26^th of September 2024 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the Deans of the Faculties, Heads of the Departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Dr. J. M. R. Fernando and Dr. Nawarathna Liyanage Erandi Abeywardana of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management were the awardees from the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.

Senior Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage of the Department of Chemistry, Prof. U. P. K. Epa and Prof. V. P. A. Weerasinghe of the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, and Ms. Chalani Ruchira Oruthotaarachchi of the Department of Industrial Management were the awardees from the Faculty of Science.

Prof. Niranga Manjuri Devanarayana of the Department of Physiology, Dr. Kaumudee Kodikara of the Department of Medical Education, Dr. Anuradha Baminiwatta of the Department of Psychiatry, and Ms. Hansi Uduwawala of the Department of Molecular Medicine were the awardees from the Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. K. N. S. Warnajith and Ms. S. N. M. D. K. Arambepola of the Software Engineering Teaching Unit from the Faculty of Science were awarded Senate Honours for the Scopus-indexed conference full papers.
