A ceremony symbolizing the awarding of educational scholarships to first-year undergraduates by the Koliya Bandara EducationaI Trust Fund, was held on April 10, 2025, at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office of the University of Kelaniya. The event took place under the patronage of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya.

During the ceremony, scholarships were awarded to five first-year undergraduate students facing financial challenges, who are residents of the North-Western Province and currently pursuing their studies at the University of Kelaniya.

The event was graced by the presence of Senior Professor Sudath R. D. Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar; Dr. Kasun Fernando, Director of Student Affairs; Mr. S. M. J. Ranjana, Assistant Registrar of the Student Welfare Division; and Mr. Senarath Bandara and family, representing the Koliya Bandara Educational Trust Fund.
