Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 28^th of May 2025 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals, were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the deans of the faculties, heads of the departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Dr. K. K. K. R. Perera and Ms. Madawala Liyanage Prasadi Anuruddhika from the Department of Mathematics, Ms. Ashini Athukorala from the Department of Chemistry, and Ms. J. Yasoda Kumari from the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management were the awardees from the Faculty of Science.

Prof. R. M. C. S. Ratnayake from the Department of Plant and Molecular Biology of the Faculty of Science was awarded Senate Honours for Research Leading to Intellectual Property Outcomes other than Patents.
