Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 23rd of July 2025 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals, were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the deans of the faculties, heads of the departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Prof. Nayana Gunathilaka from the Department of Parasitology was the awardee from the Faculty of Medicine.

Senior Prof. Priyani Ashoka Paranagama from the Department of Chemistry, Senior Prof. L. D. Amarasinghe, Prof. Vithanage Primali Anuruddhika Weerasinghe, Dr. H. M. T. R. Samarakoon, and Dr. Kalya Subasinghe from the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, and Ms. M. L. P. Anuruddhika from the Department of Mathematics were the awardees from the Faculty of Science.

Ms. W. M. H. K. Bandara from the Department of Commerce and Financial Management of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies received Senate Honours for Scopus-Indexed Conference Full Papers.
