Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 28^th of August 2025 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals, were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the deans of the faculties, heads of the departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Prof. Susima Samudrika Weligamage from the Department of Finance, Prof. R. A. I. C. Karunarathne from the Department of Human Resource Management, and Ms. N. P. K. Ekanayake from the Department of Commerce and Financial Management were the awardees from the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.

Prof. Nayana Gunathilaka from the Department of Parasitology and Dr. Lanka Ranaweera from the Department of Anatomy were the awardees from the Faculty of Medicine.

Prof. L. D. Amarasinghe from the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, Dr. K. K. K. R. Perera from the Department of Mathematics, Dr. Chathura Rajapakse from the Department of Industrial Management, and Ms. Thotagamuwe Widanage Nipuni Kasunika Perera from the Department of Microbiology were the awardees from the Faculty of Science.
