Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, handed over a consignment of essential items, including dry goods, bottled drinking water, sanitary products, medicine, and first aid kits, to the Sri Lanka Airforce for distribution among communities affected by the recent heavy floods and landslides across the country.

Organized by the Disaster Relief Project of the University of Kelaniya, the donation took place on December 2, 2025, at the university premises. The consignment was jointly collected by the academic and non-academic staff members of the University of Kelaniya.

The occasion was attended by Professor M. M. Gunatilake, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences; Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; Heads of Departments; academic and non-academic staff members; and students of the University of Kelaniya.
