A one-day training workshop on fire extinguishing organized by the Staff Development Centre, University of Kelaniya was held on the 31st of October 2018 at the Auditorium of the Staff Development Centre. The prime objective of this workshop was to make the non- academic staff members aware of how to correctly face an emergency.

Mr. P.D.K.A. Wilson, Chief Deputy Officer- Fire Service Department was the resource person of the workshop and he emphasized on how to methodically face an emergency without being confused. This was a novel experience for the non- academic staff members since it was based on several theoretical activities as well as practical activities.

Senior Lecturer Dr. Bandara Wanninayake, Director- SDC, Mr. Namal Bandara, Chief Security Officer- University of Kelaniya and the non- academic staff members graced the event.
