Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers in the University of Kelaniya was held on the 27^th of March 2019 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals in 2017/18 were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, Vice- Chancellor of the university. Moreover, Senior Prof. Lakshman Senevirathne, Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments and members of the Senate graced the event.

Prof. N.M. Devanarayana, Department of Physiology, Prof. N.K. Gunawardena, Department of Anatomy, Prof. Y.I.N.S. Gunawardene & Senior Lecturer Dr. R.M.T.B. Ranatunge, Molecular Medicine Unit, Senior Lecturer Dr. N. Muttiah, Department of Disability Studies, Senior Prof. N.A.K.P.J. Seneviratne & Prof. N. Jayathilaka, Department of Chemistry and Prof. R.K.S. Dias, Department of Zoology and Environmental Management received the Senate Awards at the ceremony.
