A programme for the distribution of waste bins for all the departments in the university organized by the Center for Sustainability Solutions of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 02^nd of July 2019 at the Senate Room. It was organized with the objective of facilitating paper waste collection for recycling.

Present at the occasion were Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, Vice- Chancellor, Senior Prof. Lakshman Senevirathne, Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Heads of the Departments, Dr. Rangika Bandara, Director- Centre for Sustainable Development, members of the Centre for Sustainability Solutions, Mr. W.M. Karunarathna, Registrar and Dr. C.C. Jayasundara, Librarian.
