University Admission 2022/2023, Aptitude Tests
- Bachelor of Business Management Honours in Financial Engineering
- Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Film and Television Studies
- Bachelor of Science Honours in Management and Information Technology (MIT) / Information Technology (IT) Degree Programmes
- Bachelor of Science (Special) Degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences (SHS)
- Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Translation Studies
- Bachelor of Science Honours in Sports Science
Applications are invited from eligible candidates to the 2022/2023 Academic year for the above degree programmes at the University of Kelaniya.
All candidates are expected to apply for the above courses as per the information given in the handbook on Admission for University bachelor's degree Courses in Sri Lanka issued by the University Grants Commission. Accordingly, the candidates who had submitted the applications to the University Grants Commission should display high proficiency by facing the above aptitude tests. Only the candidates who have fulfilled the undermentioned qualifications may apply.
Candidates should apply for the respective aptitude test stated above in addition to the online application submitted to the UGC and should appear for the examination. This is compulsory.
(1) Bachelor of Business Management Honours in Financial Engineering
(a) Should have obtained at least a simple (S) pass for Economics, Accounting and one of the following subjects at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in the year 2022/2023.
- Business Studies
- Combined Mathematics
- Information and Communication Technology
- History
- Business Statistics
- Political Science
- Agricultural Science
- Physics
- Geography
- Logic and Scientific Method
Objective of the aptitude test is to evaluate the proficiency in mathematical, English proficiency, General Knowledge and Analyzing abilities of candidates. Aptitude Test will be held in English medium.
(2) Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Film and Television Studies
(a) Should have obtained at least a simple (S) pass in any three subjects at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in year 2022/2023.
(b) It is expected to conduct the Aptitude test under two main parts
- Written Test
At the written test, talents in Cinema and Television subject, general knowledge and creativeness are anticipated. The test will be conducted in Sinhala medium.
- Oral Test
It is intended to find out the ambition in Films and Television field and the talents displayed practically by the candidates who have shown high proficiency in the written test. This test will be conducted either by calling over at the university or online.
(3) Bachelor of Science Honours in Management and Information Technology (MIT) / Information Technology (IT) Degree Programmes
Have obtained at least a “C” grade in one of the subjects; Higher Mathematics, Combined Mathematics, Mathematics or Physics at the Advanced Level Examination, 2022/2023 and should have passed.
(i) Three subjects at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in the Physical Science Stream or Biological Science Stream
Or
(ii) Two subjects at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination from the physical science stream or Biological Science stream and have passed Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as the third subject.
Make sure you include your preference for the B.Sc. Honours in Management and Information Technology (MIT) / Information Technology (IT) degree programmes in your application for admission to the University Grants Commission. The aptitude test will be held in English.
(4) Bachelor of Science (Special) Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences (SHS)
(1) Should have obtained at least a simple (S) pass for at least any approved 03 subjects in Biological Science stream, Physical Science stream or Arts subject stream selected under the conditions stipulated in Hand Book Admission to Sri Lankan Universities at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in 2022/2023.
(2) This aptitude test will be conducted in all three mediums - Sinhala, Tamil and English.
(5) Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Translation Studies
- Should have obtained at least a simple (S) pass in any three subjects at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in year 2022/2023.
(2) Objective of this test will be to evaluate the proficiency of the candidates in Sinhala and English languages. Therefore, this test will be conducted in Sinhala and English medium.
(6) Bachelor of Science Honours in Sports Science
(1) Should have obtained at least a simple (S) pass for any three subjects under any subject stream at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in year 2022/2023.
(2) It is expected to conduct the Eligibility test under two main parts.
(a) Written Test
Objective of the Eligibility test is to evaluate the proficiency in basic mathematics and Science, General Knowledge in Sports and Analyzing abilities of candidates. This aptitude test will be conducted in English medium.
(b) Practical Test and Interview
Objective of this test is to evaluate the practical eligibility, sports skills and performances. It is intended to evaluate the practical eligibility of candidates at the practical test and to ensure and evaluate the sports performances of the candidates provincially, nationally and internationally.
Method of Submitting Applications
- For Manual Users
Candidates who wish to apply should credit Rs. 1,600/- to Account No. 055-1001-40009867 maintained at the Kelaniya Branch of Peoples Bank through any Peoples Bank Branch in Sri Lanka and having the Soft Copy / Scan Image of the receipt in hand should apply via (https://aptitude.kln. ac.lk) via online. When applying, it is important to use an active email address. A specimen as to how the receipt should be filled is shown below.
- For (CDM) Cash Deposit Machine Users
Please mention Name, National ID Number and applying degree programme examination on the receipt.
- Online payments (Credit cards / Debit cards)
Payments can be made through the above methods also, for the above account number.
The bank receipt / CDM receipt should be submitted to the counter in front of the Examination Centre. If you fail to do so, you may be able to sit the exam, but results will not be released.
If there is any difference how your name appears in the above documents and the name in the application, an affidavit declaring that the person whose name appears differently in the documents is the same person should also be handed over to the said counter along with the above said documents.
You will not receive an Admission Card by post, but that link will be sent to your email address or mobile phone through SMS. Printed copy of that should be taken by you to the Examination Centre.
Should report to the Examination Centre at least one hour before the commencement of the examination on the day of the examination mentioned in your Examination Admission Card for this Aptitude test.
