The Communication and Media Unit of the University of Kelaniya received technical equipment under financial aid provided by the Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya,

Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Kithsiri Mewan Vihara, Former Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Aggamahapandit, Most Ven. Senior Professor Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkitha Maha Thera. The technical equipment was handed over to the Communication and Media Unit on the 2nd of May 2024 at the Senate Room of the University of Kelaniya. 

The event was graced by the honorable participation of the Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Kithsiri Mewan Vihara, Former Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Aggamahapandit, Most Ven. Senior Professor Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkitha Maha Thera, and Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar of the University of Kelaniya, Deans of the Faculties, Senior Lecturer Saman Rajapaksha, Director of the Communication and Media Unit, Media Officers of the Communication and Media Unit, Academic and Non-Academic Staff and Students also participated.
