“Finance Awards Ceremony 2020” organized by Department of Finance, Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies was held on 25^th of August 2020 at the auditorium of Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies.

The aim of the event was to admire the interns who have successfully completed their internship programs and to appreciate their external supervisors who are the officials of the senior positions of the institutions where the students completed their training.

The event was graced by the chief guest of the event, Senior Lecturer Dr. P.N.D. Fernando, Dean- Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, the guest of honor, Mr. Shaminda Samaraweera, Chief Financial Officer- Sri Lankan Airlines. Mr. Shaminda Samaraweera conducted the key note speech highlighting the skills of a qualified multi-talented graduate.

Moreover, Senior Lecturer Dr. Ruwan Abeysekara, Head- Department of Finance, Lecturer Dhanushka Piyananda, Coordinator- Internship Program, other academic staff members of Department of Finance & final year undergraduates of the department also attended the event.

Certificates were awarded to ten final year undergraduates who were selected as best researchers through their Dissertation in Finance course unit. The final round of the 3MT competition was conducted in the event with four finalists who presented their undergraduate research in 3minutes for a non-specialist audience. Fifty-five final year undergraduates who completed the Internship program was awarded in the event.

At the end tokens were distributed to the academic staff members of Department of Finance for their tremendous support to the undergraduates to successfully completing their degree.
