A book launch of “‘Peopling’- People operations for National Development: An Integrative Model of HRM, HRD, and NHRD” by Senior Lecturer Dr. D. U. Mohan, attached to the Department of Human Resources Management of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. The event was held on the 22nd of December 2021 at the auditorium of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.
This book is a novel experience especially for Sri Lankan readers that integrate knowledge in resolving people not only within corporate organizations but beyond corporates also. This book critically questioned HRM’s plausibility to resolve people issues and introduced modern HRD literature as complementary to the contemporary HRM knowledge domain. Introducing literature on National HRD, first time in Sri Lanka, the author presented an innovative model of dealing with people, aimed at national development based on the experiences of recently developed and most progressing nations.
The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. P.N.D. Fernando - Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. The guest of honor, the retired Prof. Dr. Ananda Patabandige presented a brief review of the book, appreciating the work done by the author. The author presented the book to the Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Dr. P.N.D. Fernando, Dean - Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies and Heads of the Departments of Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. The event was graced by the faculty members, including the Heads of the Departments and industry partners.
