The Investment Week - 2021/22, organized by the Finance Students’ Association of the Department of Finance was held from 11^th of January 2022 to 13^th of January 2022 at the auditorium of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies in hybrid mode to enhance the knowledge and skills of undergraduates in the field of Finance.

The opening ceremony was held on 11^th of January 2022 and parallel to that there was a Magazine Launch – “Finance Outlook” and a forum on “Building Back Better: Reviving Sri Lanka’s Economy Amidst Challenges”.  Dr. Narada Fernando, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies was the chief guest of this event, and the resource person of the forum was Mr. Senaka Kakiriwaragodage, Chief Executive Officer at NDB Capital Holdings Limited and the moderator was Dr. Chathura Liyanage, Senior Lecturer of Department of Finance. On the second day introduction to the Insurance and Banking degree programs were presented by the degree Program coordinators and the “Financial Literacy Course” was launched. The chief guest was Prof. Nilanthi De Silva, Vice-Chancellor, the University of Kelaniya on the second day. Also, a discussion on “Insurance Career Potential in the Next Normal” was conducted with the presence of - Dr. Jagath Alwis, Director (Technical) Chief Technical Officer at Ceylinco General Insurance Limited, and the moderator Mr. Daminda Weerasinghe, Lecturer, Department of Finance. In addition to that, a discussion on “Envision Your Career in Digital Financial Services” was glamoured with the resource Person – Mr. Bimal Perera, and moderated by Ms. Jayani Chathurika, Lecturer, Department of Finance. Further, there was a Magazine review - “Finance Outlook” by Dr. Rohan Fernando, Director of Aitken Spence and the Grand Finale of the Inter-University Finance Quiz Competition. The last day of Investment Week 2021 was glamoured by the Chat with Ms. Otara Gunewardene moderated by Ms. Dimani Silva and “Teaching Excellence Awards” was in marking the closing ceremony of Investment week 2021/22.
