Entrepreneurship Day 2021 was held on 25^th of January 2022 at the Studio A1 of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management, University of Kelaniya.

The Young Entrepreneurs' Association had organized the annual Entrepreneurship Day for the ninth consecutive year under the theme of "Businesses Battling through Covid-19: A Silver Lining" to inspire, guide, and persuade aspiring entrepreneurs and the students of University of Kelaniya.

The Entrepreneurship day is a valuable opportunity for undergraduates who may become entrepreneurs to share their experiences while emphasizing their unique concepts and new thinking. This is significant in preparing the undergraduates to become entrepreneurs with innovative business concepts in Sri Lanka.

The Entrepreneurship Day 2021 consisted of three events: student-based activity, entrepreneurship capstone project and a certificate distribution among the undergraduates of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management. Another event was the launch of the 7th edition of the "Futurepreneur" magazine and the YEA website. The magazine and the website were launched by the Chief Guest of honour, Dr. P. N. D. Fernando, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, accompanied by Dr. M. M. M. Shamil, Head, Department of Commerce and Financial Management and Mr. B. K. H. D. Anuranga, Coordinator, Entrepreneurship Degree Programme.

During the event, three teams -Ratawa.lk, Gurupiyasa Sri Lanka, and Ayur presented their capstone activities to the audience. Based on their progress of the business activities during the capstone project, the lecturers selected the winner of this year’s competition. Team Ratawa.lk won the first place in the contest and became the best entrepreneurial team of the year.

The distinguished Chief Guest, Dr. P.N.D. Fernando, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, the keynote speaker of the day- Mr. Ranjan Hanchapola, Managing Director, CAP Organic (Pvt) Ltd, CAP Green Forest (Pvt) Ltd, Partner and Project Manager of CAP Engineering, Dr. M.M.M. Shamil, the Head, Department of Commerce and Financial Management graced the event.
