A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Kelaniya and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Sri Lanka on the 24^th of January, 2023 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.

The MoU was signed with the objective of offering a “Gold Medal” for the best-performed student of the Dissertation course unit of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree programme.

Since its inception in 2005, the MBA program has been a strong arm in Management Education in Sri Lanka. Industry collaborations have been a major concern for the development of the programme. The event was hosted by the MBA unit of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies (FCMS). This gold medal will be awarded to the student who scores highest marks in the MBA programme Dissertation course unit.

The event was dignified with the presence of Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar - University of Kelaniya, Senior Lecturer Dr. Ruwani Fernando, Coordinator - MBA Programme, Dr. Srinath Dissanayake, Technical Coordinator - MBA Programme, Prof. Ruwan Abeysekera, Head - Department of Finance and former MBA coordinator, Mrs. Nilusha Ranasinghe, Head of South Asia - ACCA, Ms. Dilani Perera, Business Relationship Manager - Learning - ACCA, Sri Lanka.
