The inauguration ceremony of the 2024 batch of the Diploma in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) took place at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies on 5th April 2024, in a hybrid format. This year marked the enrollment of the 4th external batch and the 9th internal batch of the Diploma in ERP, with over 200 participants joining both physically and via Zoom.
In 2015, DMM achieved the distinction of becoming the first SAP University Alliance Partner in Sri Lanka, a significant milestone in its journey to provide ERP education. Through strategic partnerships with Rizing Lanka (formerly attune Consulting), an SAP consultancy company, the Diploma in ERP was introduced. Over the past decade, DMM has enhanced its resources, capabilities, and competencies in ERP education, culminating in the establishment of the ERP Learning Hub in 2024 to centralize ERP educational services. The Diploma in ERP is a flagship offering of the ERP Learning Hub within DMM.
The Diploma in ERP is renowned for its quality in teaching, learning, and assessments, underscored by the department’s ISO 9001-2015 certification. Since its inception in 2016, the Diploma in ERP has been recognized as an industry-focused qualification for undergraduates, the first and only diploma of its kind in South Asia. Since 2021, the program has been offered online, extending its reach to external students. The primary aim of the Diploma in ERP is to contribute to the Sri Lankan economy by upskilling business professionals and bridging knowledge, skills, and attitude gaps in the job market for integrated information systems literacy, preparing young professionals to be future-ready.
The inauguration ceremony was honoured by the presence of Professor Bandara Wanninayake, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, as the chief guest, and Mr. Hiroshan Samarathunga, Head of EcoSystems - Huawei Cloud, Huawei Technologies Lanka Co., (PVT) LTD, as the guest of honour and keynote speaker. Dr. Sugeeth Patabendige, Head of the Department of Marketing Management, Ms. Shanika Wijenayake, Director of the ERP Learning Hub, Ms. Isuri Udara, Coordinator of Diploma ERP, faculty members, and selected candidates of the Diploma in ERP 2024 batch also participated in the ceremony.
