Mr. M. A. M. Akram, representing the Department of Accountancy, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, was honoured with the ACCA Gold Medal for the Outstanding Performer of the Bachelor of Business Management Honours in Accountancy Degree Programme for the academic year 2023/2024.

The award presentation ceremony took place on 9th October 2025, at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, University of Kelaniya, with the presence of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, along with the academic members of the Department of Accountancy.

The prestigious award, sponsored by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Sri Lanka, recognizes outstanding performance and includes a Gold Medal and a cash prize.

The University of Kelaniya extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Akram on this remarkable achievement and conveys sincere appreciation to ACCA Sri Lanka for their continued support in recognizing and rewarding academic excellence.
