MoU signed between Kaymu Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. & University of Kelaniya

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Kelaniya and the Kaymu Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. (the company that operates the e-commerce platform of www.daraz.lk) on November 7, 2025, at the Senate Room of the University of Kelaniya.
The objective of this MoU is to make the Department of Marketing Management (DMM) of University of Kelaniya, and the Strategic Partner enter into collaborative works as the “Strategic Partner for Bachelor of Business Management Honours in Digital Marketing”.
The signing of the MoU between the University of Kelaniya and Kaymu Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.—the company behind Sri Lanka’s leading e-commerce platform, Daraz.lk—marked an important milestone in strengthening industry–academia collaboration. Through this partnership, Daraz joins the University as the Strategic Partner for the Bachelor of Business Management (Honours) in Digital Marketing, providing students with hands-on exposure to the real world of e-commerce.
Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya; Dr. Sugeeth Patabendige, Head of the Department of Marketing Management; Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar of the University of Kelaniya; and Prof. Ravi Dissanayake, Department of Marketing Management signed the MoU representing the University of Kelaniya, while Mr. Arshaq Farally, Head of Human Resource Management, Kaymu Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.; Mr. Jonathan Sundersingh, Lead Human Resource Business Partner, Kaymu Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.; Mr. Prabuddha Batheegama, Human Resource Business Partner, Kaymu Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.; and Mr. Kannan Periyasamy, Manager Talent Acquisition, Kaymu Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. signed on behalf of the Kaymu Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
Additionally, the academic staff members of the Department of Marketing Management and the third year undergraduates following the Bachelor of Business Management (Honours) in Digital Marketing were present at the occasion.
