The Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, had the honor of welcoming delegates from AACSB International on 11th February 2026 at the Faculty Board Room. The visit marked a significant milestone in the faculty’s ongoing AACSB accreditation journey, reinforcing its commitment to achieving global standards in business education.

The delegation included Dr Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer, Asia Pacific, Americas, and Membership, AACSB International, and Mr Prathap Das, Regional Head, South Asia, AACSB International. Their visit provided an important platform for strategic discussions, evaluation of progress, and strengthening collaboration between AACSB and FCMS.

The AACSB delegates met with Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, on the same day at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, reaffirming the University’s institutional support for the accreditation process.

The visit concluded with the continuation of the iSER discussion and an evening tea session with faculty members, fostering engagement and interaction. A group photograph marked the successful completion of the visit. Overall, the visit of the AACSB representatives was a highly productive and encouraging engagement for the faculty. It demonstrated the faculty’s dedication to continuous improvement, internationalization, and excellence in business and management education. The guidance and support received during this visit will further strengthen FCMS’s path toward achieving AACSB accreditation, positioning it among globally recognized business schools.
