“Stock Market 2018” inter school quiz competition organized by Finance Student’s Association of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya was held on the 05th of September 2018 at the Dharmaloka Hall. The objective of this quiz competition which was held for the fourth time, was to broaden the school children’s knowledge on the stock market.

Royal College- Colombo, Ananda College- Colombo, Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya- Gampaha and Kolonnawa Balika Vidyalaya got selected for the final round at this quiz competition which was held with the participation of 70 schools.

The competition was held under the patronage of Senior Lecturer Dr. P.N.D. Fernando, Dean- Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya and Mr. Hasitha Saman Athapaththu, Chief Financial Director- LB Finance PLC.

Mr. Suneth Perera, Assistant Director- Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, Mr. Hasitha Saman Athapaththu, Chief Financial Director- LB Finance PLC, Prof. C. Pathirawasam and Senior Lecturer Mr. S.A.R. Lasantha, Department of Commerce and Financial Management, University of Kelaniya included the board of judges.

Mr. Kapila Kumara, Assistant Manager- Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, Mr. Kumuditha Aparekka and Mr. Thusitha Wickrama, Assistant Mangers of LB Finance PLC, Mr. Kanchana Gammanpila and Mr. Hashan Silva, Junior Executive Officers of LB Finance PLC and Dr. C.N. Wickramasinghe, Head- Department of Commerce and Financial Management, academic staff members and students of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management graced the event.

The finale round of “Stock Market 2018” inter school quiz competition will be held on the 26th of October 2018 at the BMICH.
