The Inauguration Ceremony of launching the Developers’ Club under the Industry Interaction Cell for Computing and Technology (IICfCT) of the Faculty of Computing and Technology (FCT), University of Kelaniya was held on the 27^th of March 2023 at the Faculty of Computing and Technology.  

The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara, Dean - Faculty of Computing and Technology and Dr. Pradeep Saamarasekere, Director – IICfCT.

The Developers’ Club is a pioneering program initiated by FCT, which aims to bring passionate students together to learn, grow, and innovate by sharing knowledge, exploring new technologies, and collaborating on exciting projects and product solutions in the industry. This aspires to develop the skills and mindset of the students that is necessary to create meaningful real-world solutions that make a positive difference in the industry. This program introduces Experiential Learning and Career Advancement through active industry collaborations for students, with a work-study model.  In recognition of their commitment, offer letters were issued to undergraduate students who plan to participate as developers in the program.

The event featured inspiring speeches, symbolic agreement signing, issuing offer letters, and the official launching of the Developer’s Club.

Further, the ceremony was graced by the presence of outstanding industry personnel, including Mr. Nalin Gunatunga, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of CBC Tech Solutions Ltd., and Mr. Pubudu Liyanage, past Vice President of Human Resources of IFS Sri Lanka. The event was attended by FCT academic and non-academic staff members, as well as FCT undergraduates.
