Nine delegates from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) visited the University of Kelaniya on the 9^th of October 2023.

The objective of this visit was to explore the development initiatives launched within the Faculty of Computing and Technology under the financial support of the ADB through the Science and Technology Human Resource Development Project.

The delegation included nine directors from ADB namely, Executive Director Chantale Wong (Team Leader), Executive Director Sangmin Ryu (Host Director for Sri Lanka), Executive Director Wan Farisan Bin Wan Sulaiman, Executive Director Charlotte Justine Diokno-Sicat, Executive Director Shigeo Shimizu, Alternate Executive Director David Cavanough, Alternate Executive Director Xia Lyu, Alternate Executive Director Alberto Cerdan, and Alternate Executive Director Nim Dorji.

During this visit, Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva; the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya welcomed the delegates. Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Technology and other faculty members presented the achievements made through the project and future plans of the faculty to the delegates. Following this presentation, the ADB Directors explored the brand-new administration building, visited the rooftop of the building to witness the green power generation arrangements, and explored the state-of-the-art computer lab of the faculty.

Senior Professor S. R. D. Kalingamudali; Dean of the Faculty of Science and the staff of the Faculty of Computing and Technology were also present at the occasion.
