A book launch ceremony was held on the 19^th of March 2021 at the Boardroom of the Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya. It was organized by the Department of Modern Languages, University of Kelaniya.

Three books were launched. They are "Vidēśa sāhitya saṁgrahaya" by the Academic Staff of the Department of Modern Languages, "Samugänīmat maraṇayak" by Senior Prof. Niroshini Gunasekara and “Japan bhāṣāva igänvīma" by Senior Lecturer Dr. Dilrukshi Ratnayaka, Head- Department of Modern Languages.

The event was graced by Senior Lecturer Sudath Senarath, Dean- Faculty of Humanities as the Chief Guest. Emeritus Prof. Kusuma Karunaratne, Dr. Madhubhashini Deldeniya and Ven. Prof. Nedalagamuwe Dhammadinna Thero graced the event as the guest speakers. Staff members of Department of Modern Languages were also present at the occasion.
