The 05ᵗʰ International Conference organized by the Research Centre, Faculty of Humanities was held on the 29ᵗʰ and 30ᵗʰ of July 2021. It was virtually held in compliance with the new normal in a rapidly changing post pandemic world.

International Conference on the Humanities is the annual research forum of the Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya. It aims to disseminate new knowledge of the Humanities as a place for scholars and academics to share their research.

This year’s conference gathered scholars and panelists from many parts of the world and Sri Lanka, to discuss and debate on how “Retrospection for Future Perspectives” can aid scholars in the humanities to share, define and redefine knowledge, both new and old.

Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya participated as the Chief Guest. Prof. Emeritus Asanga Tilakaratne, University of Colombo was the Keynote Speaker. Senior Lecturer Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean- Faculty of Humanities and other Deans of Faculties, Senior Prof. N.A.K.P.J. Seneviratne, Chairman- Research Council, Heads of Departments and the Panelists from Austria, Finland, Ghana, Finland, USA, India, Portugal were among the other honourable participants.
