Senior Lecturer Upul Jayantha Ranepura was appointed as the 1^st Head of the Department of Drama, Cinema, and Television of the Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya.

The appointment letter was handed over to the Head by the Vice-chancellor, Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva on 2^nd of June 2023 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. Present at the occasion were Senior Professor Patrick Ratnayake and academic staff members of the new department.
