The Preliminary Round (in two categories) and the Award Ceremony of the “Chinese Bridge” - Chinese Proficiency Competition for Undergraduates 2023 University of Kelaniya Talent Competition organized by the Confucius Institute of the University of Kelaniya were held on 26^th April 2023 from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall of the university.

The competitions were held in two divisions, namely, Speech and Talent competitions. The Excellent Award, First, Second, Third, and Merit certificates, and Cash Prizes were won by 17 undergraduates reading for Bachelor of Arts Honours in Chinese at the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, 07 students who won the Announcing Competitions held concurrently with this competition in three languages (Sinhala, English, and Chinese) were awarded certificates and cash prizes.

Dr. Sudath Senarath - Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Professor Dilrukshi Ratnayake - Head of the Department of Modern Languages participated as the chief guests of the Awards Ceremony.

Mr. Sun Wen Bin, Senior Vice President of CHEC Port City Colombo International Finance Center (CIFC), Mr. Zou Changping, Manager of Sri Lanka Branch of China State Construction Company, Ms. Miao Ruiqiong, Manager of Bank of China Colombo Branch, and Associate Professor Sun Cuibi, Chinese Language Lecturer, Confucius Institute, University of Kelaniya participated as the judges of these tournaments.
