A program on “Celebrating Diversity and Empowering Undergraduates”

A program under the theme “Celebrating the Diversity and Empowering Undergraduates” was held on the 2nd of May from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm at the Humanities Faculty Boardroom of the University of Kelaniya.
It was organized by the Inclusivity Centre of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Kelaniya, with the objective of building inclusive and diverse learning communities in higher education.
The program included a collaborative performance by students with and without disabilities and it was conducted in English, Sinhala, Tamil, and sign languages.
During the event, the audience was addressed by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, the Director of the Centre for Gender Equity and Equality of the University Grants Commission, the Country Director for Sri Lanka and Bangladesh of The International Foundation for Electoral Systems, Head of the Computing Department of Goldsmiths, University of London, and Assistant Director, Ministry of Education. The event was also graced by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Heads of Departments, academic and administrative staff members, and students with special needs.
