The second lecture of the lecture series subsidiary to the Research Symposium 2024, organized by the Department of Sinhala of the University of Kelaniya, was held under the title “Bhārataya Dekaḍa Vīma – Sadāt Hasan Mantōgē Äsin”, on the 3rd of October 2024 at the Dharmaloka Hall, University of Kelaniya. The event was headed by the Retired Professor, Jinadasa Danansooriya. 

The event aimed at expanding the subject knowledge of the students. 

During the event, the Guest Lecture was delivered by the veteran literary translator, Chulananda Samaranayeke, who graced the event as the Chief Guest.

Furthermore, a drama, based on the Short Story “Sadāt Hasan Mantōgē Nävata Päminīma,” was presented by the students and the academic staff of the Department of Drama, Cinema and Television, who participated in the event.

The event also saw the participation of the academic staff and the students of several departments including the Department of Sinhala.
