The inaugural ceremony of the two-year Master of Arts in Sinhala degree program for the academic year 2025/2026, offered by the Department of Sinhala, University of Kelaniya, was held on September 6, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Humanities.

The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, and featured a keynote address by Professor Darshana Ratnayake from the Department of Sinhala. The session was chaired by Senior Professor Nimal Karunaratne, Chair of the Department of Sinhala.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Senior Professor Swarna Ihalagama, Head of the Department of Sinhala; Venerable Professor Malwane Chandraratana Thero; Senior Lecturer Dr. Anuruddhika Kularatne, Course Coordinator; and academic staff members of the Department of Sinhala.
