Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Teacher Training Programme for the 1st batch 2025/2026

The Japanese Language Unit of the Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya, successfully held the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Teacher Training Programme for its 1st batch (2025/2026), on 13 June 2026 at the Auditorium, Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya.

The Teacher Training Programme, organized by the Japanese Language Unit, was a three-month course designed to enhance the teaching skills and competencies of Japanese language teachers in Sri Lanka. The 1st batch of the programme consisted of thirteen participants who successfully completed the training.

The ceremony was graced by Senior Professor (Chair) Patrick Ratnayake, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; Dr Udara De Silva, Head of the Department of Modern Languages; Professor Dilrukshi Rathnayake, Head of the Japanese Language Unit; and Mr Susumu Oya and Mrs Minamidani Yuki, Specialists dispatched by the Japan Foundation.

Certificates were awarded to the participants for their successful completion of the programme. In addition, Irodori books published by the Japan Foundation were presented to the participants of the first batch to support their future teaching and learning activities.
