Cultural Exchange Programme on Japanese Language

Japan- Sri Lanka cultural exchange programme organized by the Research Centre for Japanese Studies of the Department of Modern Languages, University of Kelaniya in collaboration with the Japanese Club of the university was held on the 30th of October 2018 at Kotahena Sri Pragnakeerthi Memorial Hall. This was organized as a practical session for the undergraduates of B.A. (special) Degree in Japanese Studies under the course unit: “Inter- Cultural Communication”.

 

Two Professors from Kyoto Sangyo University, Japan graced the event as two special guests and they were able to provide an insight into the diversity in Japanese food culture.

Kelaniya and Kyoto Sangyo University undergraduates who follow Japanese Studies participated in the programme and those grouped students from the two universities got an opportunity to take part in many activities which will lead to improve bilateral cooperation.

Present at the occasion were Senior Lecturer Dr. Dilrukshi Rathnayake, Head- Department of Modern Languages, Ms. Naho Komatsubara, Japanese Language Specialist and the academic staff members of the department.
