Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Grantees from Tallinn University, Estonia

University of Kelaniya hosted two professors from the School of Humanities, Tallinn University, Estonia under Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility for Staff Teaching.

Prof. Merilyn Meristo and Prof. Maris Saagpakk called upon Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, Vice-Chancellor, University of Kelaniya on 06th of December, 2019 at Vice Chancellor’s Office.

Present at this occasion were Prof. Patrick Ratnayake, Dean-Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Neelakshi C. Premawardhena, Director- International Affairs, Ms. Sashini Chandrasekara, Cordinator- International Cooperation, Ms. Thilini Samanmalee, Coordinator- International Student Affairs and Ms. Namali Ranawila, Programme Assistant.

Prof. Merilyn Meristo was at the university from 25th of November to 06th of December 2019 and Prof. Maris Saagpakk from 28th of November to 06th of December 2019. Apart from the teaching mobility, they were also actively involved in the 60th Anniversary Education Exhibition of the university. 

Prof. Merilyn Meristo from School of Humanities, Tallinn University has a long standing partnership with University of Kelaniya on collaborative research projects and staff teaching mobility. She is an expert on Foreign Language Teaching and Teacher Training apart from her teaching duties as a Lecturer in French at Tallinn University, Estonia. 

Prof. Maris Saagpakk from School of Humanities, Tallinn University, Estonia is Professor in German. She was in Sri Lanka for the first time on Erasmus+ staff mobility. During the visit Prof. Saagpakk conducted lectures for the students of German Studies on Linguistic Landscapes and Postcolonial Perspectives - Germans in Estonia.

The visit was coordinated by the Centre for International Affairs.
