The Department of Industrial Management of the Faculty of Science at the University of Kelaniya has entered into an agreement with Sri Lanka Telecom on 12th January 2022.

The objective of signing a non-disclosure agreement is to conduct collaborative research and development activities for product recommendation and risk management utilizing machine learning techniques. The event was presided over by the head of the department, Dr. Suren Peter who welcomed the team and introduced the project members while Dr. Chathura Rajapakse explained the scope of the project, the success of the project so far, and the next phase of the project. 

On behalf of the University of Kelaniya, Cadre Chair & Vice-Chancellor of the university, Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva signed the agreement with Sri Lanka Telecom.

The project team representing the Department of Industrial Management is led by Senior Lecturer Dr. Chathura Rajapakse and other team members are Senior Lecturer Dr. Shantha Jayalal, Senior Lecturer Dinesh Asanka, and Mr. Chiran Madushanka (Level-4 undergraduate). The following dignitaries who attended the event representing the SLT are Chief Information Officer Mr. Tilak Gamalath, Mr. Kamal Ranchagoda, Mr. Janaka Harambearachchi, Mr. Suraj Pieris, and Mr. Thilina Kariyawasam.

Dean of the faculty of Science - Senior Professor Sudath Kalingamudali and other academic staff members of the department attended the event.
