Leadership Workshop organized by the Department of Physical Education, for the sports team captains of University of Kelaniya of the Academic year 2020/2021 was held on 23rd August at the B1 212 hall, Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya.

After welcoming the participants, Senior Professor SRD Kalingamudali, Dean Faculty of Science, & Chairman of Sports Advisory Board of University of Kelaniya addressed the captains. Mr. GGU Saman Kumara, Acting Director of Physical Education explained the role of Department of Physical Education and the Sport and Physical Education Programme conducted by the department and roles and responsibilities of captains and the leadership. The guest lecture of the workshop was delivered by Mr. IM Ranasinghe, Senior Lecturer of Sports and Exercise Science Unit, Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya on practical application of leadership in sport. Mr Sameera Wijayagunaratne and Ms. Sarani Godamune, Instructors in Physical Education explained about sports practices, and competition procedure.
