The Grand Finale of Transcendencia’23, a Chemistry Quiz Competition was held from 8.30 am to 11.00 pm on the 13^th of May 2023 at the Science Board Room of the Faculty of Science of the University of Kelaniya.

The competition was organized by the first batch of Applied Chemistry (2020/2021) under the coordination of Dr. Russel De Silva.

The competition consisted of 3 rounds while 15 4-member teams competed, 4 teams competed in the final round. Team Copernicium won the championship while Team Lawrencium and Team Flerovium secured the first and second runner-up positions respectively. The winning teams were awarded with cash prizes. Moreover, contestant Y. P. C. P. Nawarathna was awarded a cash prize for the Best Performer.

The proceedings of the grand finale were carried out in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. S. R. D. Kalingamudali. The judging panel consisted of lecturers, Dr. Dakshika Wanniarachchi and Dr. Dulith Abeykoon, and other guest lecturers. The quiz master duties for the final round were handled by the Teaching Assistants, Miss Deborah, and Mr. Chirantha.
