The Inauguration 5th batch of the Master of Information Technology program - Intake 2023 of the Department of Industrial Management, University of Kelaniya was held on the 5th of August 2023.

The event commenced with a warm and insightful welcome speech by Professor Janaka Wijayanayake, the Head of the Department of Industrial Management.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Professor Sudath Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Professor Kapila Senevirathna, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, who through their speeches,inspired the new cohort of graduates to embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. Mr. Lahiru Karunarathna, an alumnus of the Master of Information Technology program also shared his experiences, providing valuable insights that further enriched the event.

The inauguration ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Dilani Wickramaarachchi, the Coordinator of the Master of Information Technology program. Senior lecturers of the department including Dr. Ruwan Wickramaarachchi (Director- ICT centre), Dr Chathura Rajapakse (Coordinator, Master of Data Analytics), Dr. Keerthi Wijayasiriwardhane and Mr.Dinesh Asanka also graced the event with their presence. The gathering included a highly satisfactory count of approximately 70 students.

Following the inauguration, the students were provided with the opportunity of getting acquainted with the Coordinator of Master of Information Technology program, Dr. Dilani Wickramaarachchi, setting the stage for a supportive and encouraging learning environment throughout their academic journey. In addition, an enlightening three-hour lecture on Computer Systems by Dr. Keerthi Wijayasiriwardhane was conducted for the students.
