Professor Saman K Halgamuge, a prominent academic and researcher from the University of Melbourne, Australia, visited the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya, on 25^th August 2023.

Faculty members had fruitful discussions with him on collaborative strategies for strengthening research that would be mutually advantageous for both universities. The conversation was further enriched with exploring opportunities to utilize Professor Halgamuge's expertise to empower the research and academic landscape at the University of Kelaniya during his upcoming visit to Sri Lanka next year. This meeting marks a promising stride towards fostering international academic partnerships, with collaborative research opportunities.

The meeting was graced by the participation of Senior Professor Sudath Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Janaka Wijayanayake, Head of the Department of Industrial Management, Professor Aruna Ranaweera, Dr. Chathura Rajapakse, Dr. Nalin Warnajith, Dr. Isuru Hewapathirana, Dr. Thosini Kumarika, and Mr. Dinesh Asanka who actively contributed their insights and suggestions.
