A DOI Signed Between the University of Kelaniya and Geo-Analytical Research Center, Georgia

A Declaration of Intent (DOI) was signed on the 17th of January 2024 at the Senate Room of the University of Kelaniya, cementing a significant partnership between the University of Kelaniya and the Geo-Analytical Research Center (GARC) in Georgia.

This marked a pivotal moment in advancing the joint research and innovation initiatives, with active involvement from the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya.

With a shared vision for sustainable solutions and a commitment to enhancing natural resources, the collaboration aims to contribute valuable insights into environmental conservation, promote carbon sequestration initiatives, and support the development of national policies for achieving Carbon Net Zero by 2050.

Embarking on the HORIZON EUROPE project, the signing of this DOI sets the stage for a dynamic collaboration that will make substantial contributions to global efforts in mitigating and adapting to climate change.

Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar, Senior Professor Sudath Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Senior Professor L. D. Amarasinghe, Head of the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management and Professor V. P. A. Weerasinghe, Coordinator of the Proposal graced the event.
